Helen J. 'MeMe' Espigh, 87, of River Road, McVeytown, died Tues., March 28, 2011, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown. Born Aug. 24, 1923, in Bratton Twp. to Harry & Sylvia (Rebman) Rittenhouse. She was married to the late Glenn S. Espigh. Survived by children: Virginia L. Turner, of Ebensburg; Gloria Espigh Runk, of Lewistown; Robert E. Espigh & wife Tooter, of Milroy and Patricia J. Crosson & husband, Pete, of McVeytown; siblings: Mrs. Mary Maxwell, of Mattawana; James Rittenhouse, of Newton Hamilton; Mrs. Virginia Harshbarger, of McVeytown; Mrs. Hazel Fisher, of McClure and Charles Rittenhouse, of Pine Glen; 8 grandchildren, 18 gr. grandchildren and 2 gr. gr. grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers, Paul Rittenhouse and Harry Rittenhouse, and sisters: Gladys Bartlett, Ruth Ronk, Esther Grassmyer, Zana Hesser and Thelma Rittenhouse. Each Sunday her family shared the fruits of her baking and cooking skills around her kitchen table. She was an avid quilter. Member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren and the women's Sunday School class. Interment, Pine Glen Cemetery. Harshbarger Funeral Home, McVeytown.
