Services for Donnie Joe Pounds of Greenville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Chris Graham and Keith Thomason officiating. Burial will be at Booneville Cemetery in Booneville, Miss.
Mr. Pounds died Thursday at a Dallas hospital. Born in Booneville, Miss., on Dec. 31, 1937, he was the son of Henry and Juanita Pharr Pounds. He married Elnora Ann Gibbs in Austin on Jan. 23, 1969. He was a retired telecommunications engineer for E-Systems and a student at the University of Texas at Arlington. He was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ, Phi Beta Pi, Professional Engineers of Texas and International Electronic and Electrical Engineers.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Booneville, Miss.; one son, Stanley Pounds of Greenville; one daughter, Debra Pounds of Greenville; and one sister, Sue Glenn of Booneville, Miss.
Visitation will be at Peters Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
