Mrs. Sandberg was born December 6, 1872 in Sweden and came to the United States in 1893 at the age of 21 years. She lived in Minneapolis for several years and then in San Francisco, California for five years before moving to Duluth.
Survivors include her husband, Axel, two daughter, Mrs. Alice (William) Maruska of Duluth and Mrs. Alpha (Frank) Sprague of Sonoma, California; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A son, William, preceded her in death in 1960.
Funeral services were held at Larson Funeral Home in Sandstone on Friday, November 11 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Arthur Solberg officiating. Fred Peterson was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Arthur H. Larson. Casket bearers were Robert and Richard Maruska, Donald Ness, Myron Engebritson, Robert Troolin and Charles Schwartz. Burial was in Spring Park Cemetery at Sandstone.
