Aaron Waller Clements studied law and was admitted to the Kentucky Bar, and practiced at Morganfield, Ky, where he died February 19, 1925. He was a prominent and influential citizen of Union County, serving in that county as road supervisor, 1880-98; sheriff, 1898-1902; county judge, 1902-1910; deputy sheriff 1911-14; and sheriff from 1922 to his death. He was a delegate to a number of Democratic State Conventions; served as Grand Master of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Kentucky in 1910; was active in the Christian Church as a deacon, elder and superintendent of the Sunday School of Morganfield. Judge Clements married on May 27, 1885 at New Albany, Indiana to Sallie Anna Tuley, daughter of Preston and Julia (Orme) Tuley, by whom they had the following children: Baldwin Johnson (3-19-1886) who married Margaret Kagey on 11-21-1911. (Their children were Margaret Baldwin born 8-24-1913 and Abraham Waller Clements born on 12-9-1916. Another son, Edward Tuley Clements, Sr. born on 2-7-1888 died 7-1961 married Emily Elizabeth Page Eberle and their children are Edward Tuley Clements, Jr., Sylvia Frances Clements and Mary Virginia Eberle. The Judges' other children are: Lillian Ethel Clements, Lucy Casey Clements Scull, Clarence Berry Clements, and former Governor and Kentucky United States Senator, Earle Chester Clements. Senator Clements married Sara M. Blue and they have a daughter, Elizabeth "Bess". Clements Abell (husband Tyler Abell).
