US Senator. He served as a United States Senator from Montana from 1923 to 1947. Also served as a Member of the Montana State House of Representatives from 1911 to 1913, United States District Attorney for Montana from 1913 to 1918, Candidate for Governor of Montana in 1920, Progressive Candidate for Vice President of the United States in 1924, and Delegate to the Democratic National Convention from Montana in 1932, 1936, and 1940.
