Y. Alfred Gustafson, 90, of Longmeadow, a retired group leader at the former Springfield plant of Westinghouse Corp., died Wednesday at Cornell Medical Center in New York City. He worked for the corporation for more than half a century, and retired several years ago. Born in Helsingborg, Sweden, he came to this country in 1910, and lived here for 40 years. He worshipped at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, and belonged to the Roswell Lee-Samuel Osgood Masonic Lodge, both in Springfield. He was a former president of the Westinghouse Square Club. His wife, the former Anita Bacchiochi, died in 1988. He leaves a daughter, Greta Nikiteas of New York City; a brother, Carl of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be on Saturday morning at Byron's Allen Street Funeral Home in Springfield, with burial in Longmeadow Cemetery . Calling hours are on Friday afternoon and evening, and memorial contributions may go to the American Cancer Society, 383 Dwight St., Holyoke, 01040, or the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, 01104.
