Steven Thomas Falkowski 1966-2010 WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - Steven Thomas Falkowski, age 44, passed away at Kettle-Brook Care Center in Windsor Locks, CT, on Tuesday, February 16th, after a long and courageous battle with Huntington's disease.

Steven was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on January 7, 1966. In 1979 he moved with his family to Springfield, MA and to East Longmeadow, MA in 1982, where he attended East Longmeadow High School and graduated in 1984. During and after high school, Steve worked for A.W.Brown in East Longmeadow until he found employment with Green Machine. He loved working out-of-doors in the lawn service field and in 1988 relocated to Windsor Locks, CT to be closer to work. As he became increasingly disabled, he left Green Machine to work for Ameripride and then Murdock Claims Management before he was forced to stop working altogether.

Steve played basketball in high school, loved cars, and in recent years was an avid Nascar fan. During his stay at KettleBrook, his kind and devoted hospice volunteer, Cliff Aucter of Ellington, CT, arranged for Steve to spend a day at the Stafford Springs Speedway where he met all of the drivers and had a personal tour. Through the auspices of the Dream Foundation, Steve received many autographed photos and gifts from various Nascar drivers.

Steven was predeceased by his mother, Marilyn June (Albrecht) Falkowski, who died of Huntington's disease in October of 1990.
