Richard was the son of William DeMille (Cecil's brother) and Lorna Moon. He was adopted and raised by Cecil and didn't know William was his father until William's death in 1955. Richard was an investigative journalist, psychologist and author. He served in World War II and following that service he worked as a director and writer for KTLA TV station in Los Angeles. In addition he authored a few books including the fascinating biography "My Secret Mother: Lorna Moon."
