Mrs. Colgate Hoyt Dead
OYSTER BAY, L. I., Sept. 15 1908.
Mrs. Colgate Hoyt, wife of Colgate Hoyt, the New York banker, died at her home on Centre Island to-day. She was injured last Spring in an accident at a hotel in Richmond, Va., and was brought home on Commodore Benedict's yacht. Complications set in and she sank gradually until her death. Before her marriage she was Miss Lida W. Sherman, daughter of Judge Charles T. Sherman, and a niece of Gen. W. T. Sherman. She was married to Mr. Hoyt in 1873. She leaves four children.
