Funeral services for Mrs. Wilbur (Blanche) Walton, 75, lifetime Blockton resident, were held January 23 at the Blockton Christian Church, conducted by Rev. James Ferris and Rev. Clarence Landis. Mrs. Walton died January 21, 1966 at Ringgold County Hospital in Mt. Ayr. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Blockton.
Included in the services was the following obituary.
Blanche Eva Minor, daughter of John P. [ierson] and Mary [Ellen Barnes] Minor, was born on a farm southwest of Blockton, Iowa on Aug. 4, 1890.
She was married to Wilbur F. Walton, October 23, 1912. To this union one son was born, J. [ay] P. Walton, San Lorenzo, California.
She has spent her entire life in and around Blockton. She has been a member of the Christian Church since 1905 and a member of the Eastern Star sine 1946.
Besides her husband and son, she leaves one grandson, David Walton; daughter-in-law, Fannie Walton; two nieces, Mrs. Dale R. Miller of Des Moines and Mrs. A. J. Abuhl, Wheaton, Ill.; one nephew, Harry C. Larson, Jr. of Des Moines; one brother-in-law, H. C. Larson Sr., and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Iolene O’Neil of Centralia, Wash.; also a host of friends.
