Robert Burton Rodney, born Oct 11, 1840 was the son of William Rodney (1805-1879) and Lydia Burton Rodney (1808-?). He was born in Philadelphia. His mother was the niece of William Burton, governor of Delaware 1859-1863. He was the grandson of Daniel Rodney, governor of Delaware 1814-1817. He married Margaret Edith Owen in Toronto Canada November 3, 1900. His father is buried at Congressional Cemetery in Washington, DC as is his sister Lavinia Rodney.
