Oldest child, a son Emil Fichte did not accompany the family to America. He was born in 1859 and died in 1878.

Information received from Andrea Fichte: Information I was told by several descendants of Ernestine Christiana Junker and Gotthold Leberecht Fichte is that Gott Fichte was buried at a little spot named Manheim, Texas which apparently no longer exists. I have been unable to find a cemetery or any burial information for Gotthold Fichte beyond what elderly grandchildren related in the 1990s during verbal interviews
