Dr. Doris (Molbert) Evers died peacefully on June 27, 2007, at Bethany Homes in Fargo, ND.

A daughter of Swedish immigrants and North Dakota homesteaders, Doris was born near Tappen, North Dakota, on April 23 1918. After graduating from Tappen High School, she obtained the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Education from North Dakota State Teachers College (Valley City) in 1938; Master of Education from the University of Florida in 1956; and Doctor of Education from the University of Florida in 1960.

As an educator, she taught and inspired numerous students in many diverse places. Doris started her teaching career in Sharon, North Dakota, but also taught in Japan and France. She ended her distinguished career at the University of Denver as a Professor of Education, teaching others to become teachers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathanial Evers; a stillborn child; her parents, Ida and Nels Molbert; two sisters, Bertha and Betty; two brothers, Roy and Ralph; and nine nieces, nephews and their families. After traveling the world and making a difference, she will be interned in Tappen, North Dakota, only several miles from where she was born. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
