James Clyde Sisco, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. James was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Weatherford. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. His wartime experience was centered in the Pacific. He attained the rank of sergeant and was among the first troops to land in Japan after the dropping of the atomic bomb. James was multi-talented and had worked as a plumber, a sheet metal worker, and carpenter. He married Laura Hall on Aug. 17, 1946, in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by two children, James Richard Sisco and Mary Helen Sisco; and his parents. Survivors: Wife, Laura H. Sisco; children, Carl Wayne Sisco, Patricia Lynn Sisco, Paula Kay Robertson and husband, John, Pamela Sue Wheeler, David Michael Sisco; sisters, Ann McCoy, Mary Frances Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
