Mary Elizabeth Hubbard Poindexter, 84, of Roanoke, Va., died on Monday, June 21, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zeb Grigg Poindexter; son, Dennis Poindexter; and sister, Joyce Urick. Mary was a graduate of St. Joseph's Villa in Richmond, Va. She retired from Miller and Rhodes and was a long time member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Surviving are her children, John T. Poindexter, Timothy F. Poindexter and wife, Kristy, and Teresa Jones and husband, Billy; grandchildren, Tonya Nichols, Amy Poindexter, Julie Poindexter, Kelsie Poindexter and Kayla Jones; and greatgrandchildren, Deason Nichols, Lanson Nichols, Brandon Smith and Laney Hutchens. Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with Msgr. Thomas Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 25, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 540-982-2100.
