MERRIAM—On Friday, June 23, 1899, John Wilder Merriam, beloved husband of Lillian A. Merriam and son of the late John L. Merriam, of St, Paul, Minn., aged thirty-five years. Funeral from 1314 Fifteenth street northwest Sunday, June 25, at 2:30 o'clock. (Indianapolis papers please copy).

JOHN W. MERRIAM DEAD
The Former Govenor's [sic] Brother Dies in Washington.
A dispatch to The Journal from Washington says that John W. Merriam, brother of W. R. Merriam, died there yesterday afternoon. He went to Washington from St. Paul six months ago to accept a position in the war department, and had been ill only a couple of weeks. He was 35 years old, a graduate of Andover academy and the University of Vermont. Formerly he was in the real estate business in St. Paul.
