Carol Barbara (Barrow) Ryan, 54, of Liverpool,
passed away Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a courageous fight against cancer. Born in Syracuse, October 6, 1950, she graduated North Syracuse High School in 1968 and State University of Plattsburgh in 1972. She worked for R.M. Scanlon Associates for a number of years. Carol was an avid golfer and a member of Arrowhead Golf Course. Those nearest to her will remember her for her spirit in the darkest of times, her loyalty and devotion to them and her compassion for, and love of, animals. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her father, Wesley Barrow, and sister, Janice Barrow, predeceased her. Carol was a member of First Baptist Church of Syracuse. She is survived by her husband, James F. Ryan of Liverpool; her mother, June Barrow of Liverpool, a stepson, Michael J. Ryan of Liverpool; stepdaughters, Jennifer Reilly of Hainesport, NJ, and Amy Ryan of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren: Shane, Emma Aidan, Michael and Daniel; a sister-in-law, Marion Ryan; and a
niece, Sharon Keener. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 705 N Main St. Contributions in Carol's name may be made to Golden Retriever Rescue of CNY.
