Esther Carlson was born to Richard A. and Lydia (Sandgren) Carlson on May 25, 1904, in Iron River, Wis. She married Selmar Anderson in 1931 in Luverne. They later divorced.
She married Mark R. Stevenson on March 30, 1960, in St. Cloud. They owned and operated the Dew Drop Inn in St. Cloud for 21 years.
Mrs. Stevenson was a member of VFW Post #4847 Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Nancy) Anderson, Sun City, Ariz., and Mark R. Jr. (Judith) Stevenson, St. Cloud; grandchildren, Brad (Maureen) Anderson and their children, Megan and Blake, Menifee, Calif., Craig (Melissa) Anderson and their children, Lindsay and Dylan, Owatonna, and Wanda (Tim) Klaers and their children, Alex and Alley, Sauk Rapids.
Mrs. Stevenson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mark R. Stevenson Sr., on Oct. 15, 2002, one son, Marvin, October 1997, and one sister, Eda.
Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, was in charge of arrangements.
