Clifton Forge, Va, Oct 3 - D S Lewis, one of the best known men in this section of Virginia, died here tonight at 8:45 o'clock. A short time ago Mr Lewis fell and fractured his limb, necessitating amputation. He had not been in good heath since, and his death tonight came as the result of a general breakdown.
For twenty years Mr Lewis was town treasurer of Harrisonburg, in which placed he made his home until about a year ago when he came to Clifton Forge. He was one of the most prominent Republicans in the State, having been editor of the Valley State of Virginia and also of the Harrisonburg Times, both party organs.
