Burial Services Of Mrs. Eula Lunsford Held

Mrs. Eula Lunsford, aged 50 years, surrounded by loved ones,was called to her reward on Sunday afternoon, April 2[7]th, at the family residence in East and West Street.

Mrs. Lunsford for years had been an invalid, bearing her suffering with Christian fortitude and heroic patience, when the inevitable came bringing great sadness to those who love her and will miss her; there was the realization that God's call to a higher and happier life was a tender mercy. Mrs. Lunsford was a lovely Christian character, a good wife, a devoted mother and a kind friend and neighbor. It is a beautiful scene that the loved ones have, as they look back over the story of her life, written as it is on their memories. She has gone to her home on high where, as a strong magnet, she is drawing others to that world where suffering and sorrow never come.

A large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives followed the funeral cortege to the quiet City Cemetery on the hill where the funeral and burial services were held Tuesday morning at ten o'clock, the Rev. R.H. Wynn, pastor of the First Methodist Church and the Rev. W.R. Harvell, presiding elder, pronounced the sacred rites. The remains of the beloved woman were laid to rest 'neath a canopy of choicest flowers which were brought as tributes of friendship and love. Pallbearers were Mr. Ed. Batton, Mr. B.F. Griffith, Mr. W.B. Life, Mr. J.R. Miller, Mr. H.C. Talton, and Mr. William Webster; Honorary pallbearers were Mayor H.L.Bridges, Mr. Tom Connell, Mr. Finis L. Lowe, Mr. A.H. Gray, Mr. Grady Gray and Mr. J.B.Snell. Tenderest sympathy is expressed to her husband, Mr. W.R. Lunsford, daughter, Mrs. Fred L. Barrett and two sons, T.S. Luns-ford and William Lunsford, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Samford of Wills Point, Texas; three brothers, Mr. John Samford of Fort Worth, Mr. W.R. Samford of Detroit, and Mr. B.R. Samford of Dallas; five sisters, Mrs. J.Craft of Wills Point, Texas, Mrs. R.A. Beauchamp, Arlington, Texas, Mrs. B.A. Moore, Ranger Texas; Mrs. N.C. Elliott, Dallas, Texas; a daughter in law and grandchild, Mrs. T.S. Lunsford and Nelta Rae Lunsford of Brownsville, a niece, Mrs. Forrest Young of Fort Worth and a sister-in-law, Mrs. O.B. Moreland of Sweet Water, Texas. Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Samford of Wills Point, Texas, Mr.John Lunsford of Fort Worth, Mrs.O.B. Moreland of Sweet Water, Mrs. J. Craft, Wills Point, Mrs. T.A. Beauchamp, Arlington, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Moore of Ranger, Mrs. N.C. Elliot, Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Young of Fort Worth, Mr. and Mrs. S.S. Moreland of Homer, Mr. and Mrs. S.S. Moreland, Jr., of Homer, Mr.and Mrs. J.A. Jones of Dallas,Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Beasley of Gibsland, Mrs. H. Hurst of Lewis-ville, Mrs. F. Tackett of Lewisville, Arkansas, and Mr. Tom Lunsford of Brownsville, Texas.
