Mary Edna Voyles Rose passed away December 3, 2009 at the Golden Age Living Center. She was born December 8, 1914 in LaDue, Missouri, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Voyles and Florence Eunice Marquess Voyles.

On February 6, 1937, she was married in Kansas City, Missouri to William Ferrill Rose, who died October 28, 2002.

Surviving are sons, Ferrill Franklin Rose and wife, Lynne, of Florence, and Richard Wayne Rose and Nancy Rose of Odessa, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and sister, Beverly Diane Larsen and husband, Doug, of Orange City, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Martha Sharon Rose, and brothers, Charles Franklin Voyles, and Pastor Earnest William Voyles.

Mrs. Rose and her husband founded Rose Piano & Moving Company in Kansas City in 1936 and operated it until 1990 when they retired, sold the business, and moved to Florence. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kansas City and Sedalia for 77 years. She served as the church secretary, Sabbath School secretary, Sabbath School teacher, deaconess, and many other offices.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m., followed by funeral services Monday, December 7, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ferrill Franklin Rose, Jr. Ph.D., Richard Wayne Rose, Jr., Orlin 'Sonny' Rose, Jr., Dr. John D. Ure, Jr., Duane Michael Voyles, and Justin Michael Hamilton.
