Mamie Evelyn Moberg was born Sept 21, 1864 was born Sept 21, 1864 at Center City, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl Peter and Carolina Moberg. In 1885 the family moved to Taylors Falls. She was confirmed in the First Lutheran Church at Taylors Falls and remained a steadfast member until her death. She loved her church and was active in the Choir, Ladies Aid, Dorcas and Missionary Society.
She was united in marriage to Charles A. Berg, Oct 10, 1917 and four sons were born to this union.
She had been in ill health for several years and confined to her bed for the last few months. On Sunday evening, Oct 21, 1945, she passed to her eternal rewards.
She is deeply mourned by her husband, Charles Berg; four sons, Alton, Rolland, Winston and Leland, all are now in the Armed forces; three daughters in law, Vernia, Phyllis and Agnes; five grandchildren: Brian, Terry, Carol Ann, Virginia, and Steven; one sister Edith of Taylors Falls; seven brothers, Peter of Scotia Mills, Oregon, August of Chisago City, Henry of Minneapolis, Albert, Ernest, Alfred and Evert of Taylors Falls, many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Lutheran Church of Taylors Falls, Thursday at 2 pm, Pastor A. B. Walfred officiating. Mr. Carl Bonderson sang two of Mrs. Berg's favorite songs, “om jag aged alt men icke Jeus” and “Crossing the Bar.”
Pallbearers were, Oscar Carlson, Oscar Weslander, Alfred Videen, Theodore Palmquist, Frank Swenson, and Clarence Monson.
Interment was at Kahbakong Cemetery
