United States Army Officer. He was the son of Russell Hancock, and the grandson of Major General Winfield Scott Hancock.

Obituary, Boston Journal, December 14, 1912 -

Capt. Gwynn R. Hancock of the United States coast artillery and a grandson of Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock died suddenly of heart disease yesterday at Fort Strong. Captain Hancock was 36 years old and a native of Mississippi.
