Sybil V Nelson, 91, longtime Superior area resident, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Remer, MN on Sept 28, 1919, the daughter of Fredrick and Thelma (Grieve) Harris. Sybil moved to Superior in 1937 following completion of High School.
She worked as a Beautician and also worked for many years as a cook at Southdale Nursing Home in Superior. Sybil married Arvid nelson on March 27, 1942 and had celebrated 42 years of marriage before his passing in 1985. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and especially her grandchildren.
Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, Arvid; her parents; and two brothers, George and LaVerne Harris.
She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Nelson, Superior and Paula (Edgar) Kock, Park Falls, WI; one son, Richard (Sherri) Nelson, Superior; four grandchildren, Nicole Kock, Courtney Wrazidlo, Callista Nelson, all of Superior and Ashley Kock of St Cloud, MN; one brother, John (Karen) Harris, Mt Shasta, CA; two sisters, JoAnn Alto and Donna Lucas, both of Solon Springs, WI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Superior.
Pallbearers for the service will be Tracy Bee, Edgar Kock, Clarence Courture, Rodney DeVogel, Bart Frandsen and Mike Miller.
