She was born March 28, 1918, in Brown County, the youngest child of George A. and Lillie Dunbar Dieterich. She married Harold L. Grady on Nov. 16, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo. He died June 18, 1999, after nearly 62 years of marriage.
She attended Hill School in Brown County. She was a member of the Cooperstown Christian Church where she was active for many years. She was formerly a Home Bureau member and a 4-H leader.
Lillie loved doing handwork and quilting. She was a wonderful cook and a talented seamstress; working many years in food service.
She was a "people" person. She will be greatly missed. Lillie's life was devoted to her family and friends.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother and a faithful friend. She loved keeping in touch with family and friends through cards and letters.
Those who celebrated her life include her daughters, Nancy Porter and Judy (Dale) Weston, both of Palmyra, Mo.
She also leaves four grandchildren, Tracy (Randy) Helms and Tiffany (Mike) Church, all of Palmyra, Jason Weston of Sheridan, Wyo., and Melissa Weston of Columbia, Mo.
There are three great-granddaughters, Rhylee Sue Helms, Lillie Ann Church and Lydia Kay Church, all of Palmyra.
One sister survives, Georgia Baker, of Mount Sterling; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters, Beulah, Annabel, Berniece and Dorothy; her brother, Lyle; and several nieces and nephews. Lillie was loved by all who knew her. She had amazing grace.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday in the Hendricker Funeral Home, Mount Sterling. Burial will be in Hersman Cemetery, south of Mount Sterling. VISITATION: 10 a.m. until time of services Monday in the funeral home.
