Don was born an only child to George and Vera Mohrweiss in San Francisco, California. Don grew up in Daly City, graduating from Jefferson High School in 1949.
Don then served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard with two years as a guard at Point Cabrillo Light Station in Fort Bragg, California.
As a skilled welder and smart businessman he was successful in the Store Fixture business for over 50 years. The last 25 years Don and his wife Mary Mohrweiss ran their own store fixture business D & M Industries, Inc. in California.
His many friends, colleagues, and family will greatly miss him.
Don is survived by Mary Mohrweiss of Manteca, Ca; his loving wife of 45 years, daughter, Kellor Mohrweiss Smith; and son-in-law, Scott Smith of Oakland, Ca.; granddaughter, Abigail Smith; grandson, Evan Smith of Oakland, Ca.; sister-in-law, Anita Schnee and her husband Whitey Schnee of Clovis, Ca.; brother-in-law, Bill Sevey and his wife Bernice Sevey of Huntsville, AL.; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Friday, June 19, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome.
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at Jackie and Mike Minnick's house, 6761 E. Belmont Ave., Fresno, Ca., immediately following the service.
Donations may be made in memory of Don Mohrweiss to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, Ca., 95204- 1953, The Salvation Army Stockton Corps, P.O. Box 848, Stockton, Ca., 95201-0848 or the charity of your choice.
