Frank worked as a blacksmith when he enlisted in the Army after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor (25 February 1942) and was stationed in the Mid-Pacific. He remained in the Army until 14 October 1945. He passed away in 1974 in Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii, and his widow Irene died a few years later in 1977. They are both buried at the Kaua’i Veterans’ Cemetery in Hanapepe.
