Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of October 26, 2007, Ethel Brown Hill, widow of W. Robert Robbie Hill. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Ethel B. Hill are invited to attend her funeral services on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Eleven O'clock in Cherokee Place United Methodist Church. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, Monday between four and six o'clock. Mrs. Hill was born March 25, 1924 in Andrews, SC a daughter of William Washington Brown and Eva L. Brown. She was a graduate of Murray Vocational High School and a member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hill was a true Christian woman, who was dedicated to her church, family and friends. Ethel's family would like to express great appreciation to the staff of Ashley River Plantation Assisted Living where she lived and enjoyed the last few months of her life. She was a retired communications secretary at the Charleston Naval Weapons Station. Mrs. Hill is survived by a daughter, Jane Johnson Smith; a grandson, Christopher Smith; Twelve nieces and nephews, Desiree Wood Jordan, J. Carol Brown and his wife Barbara, Wanda Marie Brown Clark, Bontae Wood and Rick Wood all of Charleston, SC, Patricia Mahoney Conner, Toni Mahoney Ellington and Bill Wood all of Texas, Pepi Bates Dicus of Boone, NC, Bob Wood of Summerville, SC, Yvette Wood Acuff of Hilton Head, SC and many grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, three brothers, William D. Brown, Mervin A. Brown and Wilson L. Brown; three sisters, Ruby B. Wood, Helen B. Bates and Pauline B. Roland.
