Dau of C A & A E Abrahamson
∼Aged 17
Margaret Abrahamson today lies dead in a local undertaking parlor, the victim of an automobile accident which occurred early last evening on the road south of Prospect park. Miss Elvera Lundberg suffered a sprained ankle and numerous bruises and the driver of the car a broken arm. The only one of the party to escape unscathed was a boy friend.
Frederick Zeuch, a Davenport high school pupil, was on his way to Moline last evening, accompanied by Edwin Hinrichs, who lives here. Congestion of traffic stopped them at a corner in the downtown district of Rock Island. They saw two girls standing on a corner, waiting for a car. an invitation to ride home in the car was given and accepted.
A spin about Rock Island and Moline was enjoyed by the two young couples, followed by a ride south from Moline into the country. Returning, they were proceeding at a fair rate of speed, and when near Tunnicliff farm, south of Prospect park, the car was turned out in meeting another machine.
Suddenly the car skidded, and before it could be brought under control it had plunged over a four-foot embankment and the occupants were hurled to the ground and the car overturned.
Miss Abrahamson was killed almost instantly. Assistance was at once summoned and members of the party were rushed to a hospital. Examination disclosed the fact that Mr. Zeuch had incurred a fracture of an arm and that Miss Lundberg had an ankle sprained and was bruised about the body. Hinrichs escaped with a few bruises.
