Hazel was the daughter of Frederick Asa and Amy Fannie (Bird) Kellogg.

She had 4 siblings: Julia Hannah, Claude Erasmus, Clifford Frank and Maud Grace.

Hazel married Bruce Hinds on January 12, 1909.

They were the parents of a daughter: Muriel Audrey.

Hazel married Rasmus "Robert" Brue on May 16, 1915.

They were the parents of two daughters: Alice Ellen and Amy Belle. Robert also adopted Muriel.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Greenwood Church for Mrs. Hazel Louise Brue, who passed away in Seattle, Washington, March 2nd. Rev. K. A. Knutson officiated with Mrs. Knutson rendering a vocal solo. Interment was made in the Leon Township Cemetery under the direction of R. L. Halferman. Six nephews of the deceased served as pallbearers and six nephews served as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Brue died after a very short illness of a heart condition. She had complained of a pain in the chest for about three days but believed herself to be suffering from a cold. She passed away within 15 minutes when stricken with an acute attack.
Hazel Louise Brue was born June 3rd, 1889, in Viola Township, Olmsted County, Minnesota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick A. Kellogg. She grew to young womanhood in Olmstead County and taught in the schools there for 10 years, also serving as a practical nurse for two years. She came to northern Minnesota in 1915 and has resided in Leon Township until two years ago when she moved to Seattle Washington.
Her marriage to Robert Brue took place at Gonvick on May 10th, 1915, and they were the parents of three daughters, all of whom survive. Mr. Brue passed away a number of years ago.
Mrs. Brue was interested in Red Cross work and was organizer and leader in 4-H Club work in her community for 14 years. She also served as District Home Chairman for the Farm Bureau for many years. She also was active in church work and helped organize the Greenwood church and had since teen be a faithful member and worker.
The survivors include the three daughters, Mrs. Orion (Muriel) Davids of Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Henry (Alice) Coleman in California; and Mrs. Curtis (Amy) Lund in the Army and stationed in Missouri. There are also four grandchildren, two sisters and one brother surviving.
