Asa Briggs Brown was the son of Israel Putnam Brown and Sally Briggs Brown. He was married to Lephia Olympia Brown Brown (daughter of Capt. Thomas Page Brown and Sarah Parker Brown).
He was the father of the Unitarian minister and suffragette Olympia Brown (married to John Henry Willis) and U.S. Senator Arthur M. Brown (senator from Utah; married several times). He was also the father of Oella Brown Schuyler (married to William H. Schuyler) and Marcia R. Brown Howland (married to the Unitarian minister Clark Goodhue Howland).
