Died, July 22, 1900, in Jacksonville, John Scott, sr., of Old Berlin, aged 76 years.

Mr. Scott lived in Old Berlin the greater part of his life and was well known in the west part of the county. His wife was the sister of Governor Richard Yates, and an aunt of Richard Yates, Republican candidate for governor.

Mr. Scott is survived by his widow and four children. They are Bud Scott of Kensor, Mrs. Mark Robertson of Berlin, John Scott, living at home, and Thomas Scott of this city.
