He was a Member of the Booneville Church of Christ, where he was the Longest Serving Deacon for over 40 years.
He served on the Prentiss County School Board for many years and was a Member of the Booneville Lions Club.
Survivors include his Wife, Juanita Pharr Pounds of Booneville; a Daughter, Sue Glenn of Booneville; a Son, Donnie Joe Pounds of Greenville, TX; 2 Sisters, Quay Brown of Baton Rouge, LA; and Annie Lee Kizer of Booneville; and 4 Grandchildren.
