(Special to Daily News)
Goldsboro, March 22. - John M. Grantham, a prominent business man of Goldsboro, died at his home here this morning following a brief illness of pneumonia, aged 56 years.
The death of Mr. Grantham has caused profound sorrow among a large number of friends throughout this city, and will be learned with regret by friends in this state and throughout the south, where he was probably better known as an expert liveryman, having for many years conducted a livestock business in Goldsboro, and was also one of Wayne county's leading farmers.
The funeral will be held from the home tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. P. McIntyre, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Interment will be made in Willow Dale cemetery beside his late wife who preceded him to the grave several years.
