Political figure. After a civilian career in Vietnam, Jordan became a chief strategist for presidential candidate Jimmy Carter. After Carter's victory, Jordan became chief of staff. Later, he unsuccessfully ran for political office himself before joining the H. Ross Perot presidential campaign in 1992. Most recently, he worked with Unity08, which is an organization seeking to reform the two party political system. Jordan had fought various cancers for over two decades. These include lymphoma, melanoma, and prostate cancer. As part of his battle, he and his wife formed Camp Sunshine Retreat for children with cancer.
