Jessica Jo Nelson, 53, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 4, 2024, surrounded by her family.  Jessica was born on October 19, 1970, in Rock Island, at St. Anthony's hospital to Charles E. and Georgann M. Nelson. With sister Jennifer and brother John, Jessica completed their family.

Jessica was brought home to a brand-new home in Coal Valley that our dad built. She spent her days playing outside and in the pool.  Jessica grew up being involved in sports.  She excelled at softball. Her brother John spent many hours playing ball with Jessica so it was a favorite memory for both of them.  She played softball through high school and was a member of the ASA traveling softball team.  Her talents for the game were most notable.

Jessica and her parents moved to Florida in 1985.  They settled in Port Charlotte, Florida.  She graduated in 1988 from Port Charlotte, Florida High School.  Bo Bo as she was affectionately known stayed in Florida until 2000 before moving to Nashville.

Jessica was married to Reggie Bigord in Las Vegas, NV.  This union was blessed with a son, R.J., who unfortunately was stillborn on August 29, 1997.  This was such a devastating time in their lives and their marriage ended in divorce.

Jessica worked for many medical professionals in Florida, Nashville, and Illinois.  She took pride in each and every job she had, and she took pride in doing her job well.  Jessica moved back to Coal Valley in 2005 to help our parents, both of which had health issues and wanted to be back "home".  Jessica said she could do it and off she went to help them.  Truly the most unselfish person, putting others before herself.

Jessica's friends span from coast to coast.  She was the life of the party and when she was young, she had lots of fun with her friends.

Jessica's health had been an issue for quite a while, there were too many problems to list.  This led her and our family to check into body donation.  After the 20-page application, Jessica was accepted.  She wanted to help others to find reasons for Lupus, Fibromyalgia, diabetes, cancer, and many other autoimmune disorders.  Jessica moved to Oklahoma with her sister Jenni and husband Ron in 2017, for the extra help with her health issues.

Jessica was a member of the first Christian Church in Seiling.  She stood strong in her faith during the past years.

Jessica's pride and joy were her dogs, Sadie and Lexi, and they will be lost without her.  They will be staying with Ron and Jenni to get daily truck rides and lots of treats!

Another joy for Bo moving here was spending time with her nieces, nephews, and their children.  It was truly a highlight of her day.  She loved well during her time here.

Jessica Jo was preceded in death by her mother, Georgann, father Charles, and her son Reggie Bigord Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are sister Jennifer Jones and husband Ron of Seiling, Ok, and brother John Nelson and wife Brenda of Dade City, FL.  There are nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will miss her presence in their lives.
