Spouse Andrea "Anna" Glesta passed away in North Dakota in 1909.

Ole was Widowed with Children, including Minor Children under 18 yrs old.

Widowed Ole Glesta remained living in North Dakota for a while after Andrea

passed away with some of their Children. Not known why Spouse

Andrea "Annie" Glesta died May 3, 1909. Her Death Certificate sited she

was Married 27 years with 7 Children and of whom 7 Children were Living.

Spouse Anna Glesta passed away abt 3 years before their Son Oscar Glesta died.

Son Oscar Glesta died of Tuberculosis (T.B.) Aug. 8, 1912 at the

C & C Hospital in St. Paul, Ramsey Co. MN. Not known if others in Family

were ill with T.B. Tuberculosis also known as Consumption years ago, can be very

contagious, serious and deadly. Treatment for T.B. back in that era was experimental

and there was much stigma & fear. Medical care included open air approaches

and other early pioneer medical approaches . Over a century later, Much more

medical knowledge today. Jamestown North Dakota and others posted

alerts at that time regarding T.B. There were also other serious deadly diseases

in that era.


At least two of Ole and Anna's Sons, Alfred Glesta & John "Jack" Glesta

were U.S. Military WWI Veterans. They Enlisted to serve our Country in

the U.S. Military during WWI when they were still living in

Barnes Co. North Dakota. It appears Sons Alfred and John "Jack" Glesta

may have served our Country overseas in France during WWI.

Some of their Family Members stayed together during the very hard times

of WWI and then the Great Depression of the 1920's. Some of their Children,

Alfred Glesta, Anna Glesta Hellendar and Ida Glesta Smith Krueger Jensen

moved to Mpls MN. Possibly others. Ole had Grandchildren.

Son John (Jack) Glesta left North Dakota prior to WWI, went to Mpls MN,

returned to Fargo ND before expecting to be deployed to France during WWI.

Daughter Ida Glesta Smith Krueger's Children were born in Mpls MN

Widowed Ida Krueger remarried to Oscar Jensen in Iowa in 1939 and

they lived in Mpls MN until at least the 1950 U.S. Census. Daughter Anna

Glesta Hellander 's Family moved from North Dakota to Henn. Co. MN.

per a 1940 Mpls US Census, Ole Glesta was sited as age 87 yrs old and Widowed.

Per a Mpls Newspaper entry, Ole Glesta was 90 yrs old and was living

at 248 Cedar Ave S. Mpls MN when he passed away.

When Son Alfred registered for the 1940 U.S. Military WWII Draft,

as his Parents had died. Sister Ebba was living in Oregon per Census

who held Wedding Party Dinner event for Brother Jack & Claire Glesta 1920 Wedding.

to be in the Clothing Business in Fargo North Dakota per some newspaper entries in

passed away with some of their Children. Not known why Spouse

Andrea "Annie" Glesta died May 3, 1909. Her Death Certificate sited she

was Married 27 years with 7 Children and of whom 7 Children were Living.

Spouse Anna Glesta passed away abt 3 years before their Son Oscar Glesta died.

Son Oscar Glesta died of Tuberculosis (T.B.) Aug. 8, 1912 at the

C & C Hospital in St. Paul, Ramsey Co. MN. Not known if others in Family

were ill with T.B. Tuberculosis also known as Consumption years ago, can be very

contagious, serious and deadly. Treatment for T.B. back in that era was experimental

and there was much stigma & fear. Medical care included open air approaches

and other early pioneer medical approaches . Over a century later, Much more

medical knowledge today. Jamestown North Dakota and others posted

alerts at that time regarding T.B. There were also other serious deadly diseases

in that era.


At least two of Ole and Anna's Sons, Alfred Glesta & John "Jack" Glesta

were U.S. Military WWI Veterans. They Enlisted to serve our Country in

the U.S. Military during WWI when they were still living in

Barnes Co. North Dakota. It appears Sons Alfred and John "Jack" Glesta

may have served our Country overseas in France during WWI.

Some of their Family Members stayed together during the very hard times

of WWI and then the Great Depression of the 1920's. Some of their Children,

Alfred Glesta, Anna Glesta Hellendar and Ida Glesta Smith Krueger Jensen

moved to Mpls MN. Possibly others. Ole had Grandchildren.

Son John (Jack) Glesta left North Dakota prior to WWI, went to Mpls MN,

returned to Fargo ND before expecting to be deployed to France during WWI.

Daughter Ida Glesta Smith Krueger's Children were born in Mpls MN

Widowed Ida Krueger remarried to Oscar Jensen in Iowa in 1939 and

they lived in Mpls MN until at least the 1950 U.S. Census. Daughter Anna

Glesta Hellander 's Family moved from North Dakota to Henn. Co. MN.

per a 1940 Mpls US Census, Ole Glesta was sited as age 87 yrs old and Widowed.

Per a Mpls Newspaper entry, Ole Glesta was 90 yrs old and was living

Anna was the Mother of 6 Children and 6 Children living as of 1900 Census.

Daughter Dorothy Glesta was Born in 1901 after the Census would indicate 7 Children.

Anna's Death Certificate sited she was the Mother of 7 Children in 1909.

Research to identify the 7 Children's names correctly.

Names for 6 Children and their data beyond Census confirmed. Unclear if

the 7th Child is George, Edith or Agnes per Census Reports. Alfred Glesta,

Oscar Glesta were Adults and not in the 1910 Census with Widowed Ole Glesta

and Children. George Glesta was not sited and either was Agnes from the

1900 Census. Edith age 14 yrs was on the 1910 Census and not on the 1900 Census. Birth Records for Oscar Glesta show up as George Oscar Glestad and Oscar George Glestad for the same DOB in 1886 and transcribed as Glesta, Glista, Glestad, many variations with all the same birth date, except for Oscar's Death records.
