Jay III is survived by his sister, Patty Fulbright Smith, former wife, Anne A. Fulbright, their three sons, Jay IV, Eric and Stuart Fulbright. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Emily, Abby, Jason and Ryan and his daughter-in-law, Deanna C. Fulbright.
Jay graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He taught high school in Arkansas and Beirut, Lebanon, and then went on to practice Architecture in California and Saudi Arabia for Edward Durell Stone, Inc. and Hill-Adams, Intl. The peak of his professional career was the role of Project Manager/Owner's Representative for the construction of the Scripps Clinic Hospital in La Jolla, Ca and the King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Jay had a real skill in negotiating the complicated interactions between contractors, inspectors, doctors and owners/government.
He was an accomplished multi-media artist and had many interests. Jay loved traveling, history, current events, reading and really enjoyed a good conversation. Jay's love of conversation was supported by an incredible memory that he had until the last days of his life. Jay is deeply missed by his family, who were very close to him.
