Dolores was a devoted wife and nurturing mother who made a loving home for her family. She was an amazing cook who prepared the most delicious soups and homemade pierogies, never referring to a recipe. She enjoyed going to bingo, playing the slots at the casino, and solving crossword puzzles. Extremely competitive, Dolores loved to play games and cards, including Skip-Bo. Sometimes she was down-right ruthless in order to win a hand. She always enjoyed a day out with the girls, shopping and going out for lunch with her daughters and granddaughters.
Feisty and quick-witted, Dolores had a great sense of humor. She always had some little comment to spice-up the conversation and it was hard to know what she might say next. A devout Catholic, she practiced her faith at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Detroit where she was a parishioner for many years and at St. Paul Catholic Church in Onaway.
Surviving are daughters, Rosemary Hazelett of Ocqueoc, Barbara Davis of Huron Beach, and Deborah (Karl) Seifferlein of Clinton Township; son, Robert Pylak; as well as 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Julius; sons-in-law, Bill Davis and Linford Hazelett; daughter-in-law, Ruth Pylak; grandchildren, Sharon and David; sisters, Vivian, Geraldine, and Shirley; and brother, John.
