Parents: Harold Wesley Shears and Jessie Lavonne (Denham) Shears

Following graduation from West High School and attendance at Adams State College, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, receiving an honorable discharge in 1964. Most of his career was spent as a Master Electrician, working for Shears Electric and IBEW Local #68, until his retirement. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of George Washington Lodge No 161 in Denver.Mike had a deep bass voice and spent many years singing with various groups where his voice resonated in any venue.
On July 25, 1982, he married his wife and best friend, Anna Kolar Shears and they spent nearly 41 years of marriage, laughing, traveling, singing, entertaining friends and family and enjoying their home.
In addition to his wife, Mike is also survived by his children, Eric M. Shears and his wife Michelle of Merrimac, Massachusetts; Jenna M. Shears of Merrimac, Massachusetts; and Barbara (Lebsack) and husband Robert Mountain of Arvada, Colorado; his grandchildren, Ryan and Katelyn Shears and Katelin and Madison McSherry of Merrimac, Massachusetts; Elise and Gracelyn Mountain of Arvada, Colorado; his brother Keith H. Shears of Florence, Arizona; his sister, Joan Lemley of Lakewood, Colorado and sister-in-law, Miriam Shears of Loveland, Colorado; his former wife, Janet Shears Bruno of Merrimac, Massachusetts, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother, James W. Shears and brother-in-law George Lemley.
