Clotilda (Cotillo, Tillie) went by the name of Tillie. Her mother, also Clotilda as I recently found out, also went by Cotillo and Tillie…this caused a bit of confusion.
Clotilda...was named after her mother Clotilda but evidently thru the years went by Cotillo and Tillie. I found her burial information by sending for her death certificate which was under the name of Tillie Rose McDowell.
Cotillo was born the last of four known children to Antonio and Clotilda Gardella Arrighini on the 1st of February 1898 and sadly her mother Clotilda (Tillie) died the 10th of February 1898.
Per the census records she lived with her Grandmother Rosa, Rose Gardella Belluomini until she married.
She married James William McDowell, son of Oliver O. and Mary A. Nichols McDowell on May 25, 1921 in Alameda, California.
