Sonja was born Oct. 9, 1939, to Kenneth G. and Elsie M. (nee Erickson) Lamos in Willoughby.
She met the love of her life, Donald Park, at a New Year's Eve party in 1955, and the two were married in November of 1957. They enjoyed 34 years of marriage together until his untimely death in 1991.
Sonja was a lifelong resident of Willoughby who enjoyed traveling, bowling, card games and playing the slots. She also enjoyed being mischievous, stirring up some friendly trouble now and again when in her estimation life was getting too mundane. She grew up and remained a rabid baseball fan all her life, often proudly sharing how she listened to the 1948 Indians' World Series victory on the radio with her father and uncles.
Sonja is survived by her son, Scot (Michelle) Park; grandchildren, Lauryn (Jose) Rivera, Emily Brown and Nathan Park; step-grandchildren Chelsea (Chad) Winchell and Ryan Winchell; great-grandchildren, Karissa, Annalyse and Elsie Brown and Myles Zellefrow; niece, Lynne (Richard) Foreman; and nephew, Keith Borelli.
In addition to her late husband, Sonja was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia (William) Borelli; granddaughter, Brittany Park; and great-grandson, Michael Brown.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Private burial will take place at Willoughby Cemetery.
