Jack Byrum Wilson, 75, of Hot Springs, died Friday, February 15, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jack was born December 20, 1931 in Hot Springs to Jack and Geneva Wilson. He served in the Navy (Korean War). After retiring from Dierks Public School, Jack moved back to Hot Springs.

He was a member of Center Fork Baptist Church. While caring for his mother, he became reacquainted with a Hot Springs High School class of '51 friend, Sue. They married January 25, 2003 and enjoyed five good years together

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Billie Gene Wilson and his former wife, Shirley Dowdy.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Minton Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Cindy Wilson; daughter, Karen Wilson; grandsons, Shane, Chad and Corey; granddaughter, Carly; great-granddaughter, Madison; sister-in-law, Paula Wilson; niece, Debbie; nephew, Darrell and aunt, Bonnie Hunt.

When he married Sue, he inherited a large second family � a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Nancy Minton; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jr. Tedford and their children and grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are his life long friend, Carl Underwood, a very special cousin Dorothy and her husband, Sid Gammon, Loyd and Gladys Parker, Pete and Jane Rainwater, Betsy and Andrew Cox, Bill Diggers, Brother Passman, Reverend Lynn Baxter, Brother Doyle Whitesel, Leon Burton, Dr. Keohn, Dr. Webb and staff, Kathy Mahone, Edward Byron, Christi Louden and everyone with Arkansas Hospice.

The service will be Monday, February 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Gross Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lyn Baxter and Brother Doyle Whitesel officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice or Centerfork Baptist Church.
