Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Janie Marie Jones-Hoover, 53, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Halligan McCabe De Vries Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be offered at 6:45 p.m. The family invites you to join them in the rosary on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Janie died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. She was born June 14, 1951, in Davenport, the daughter of Merle Leo Jones and Vera Marie Ricke. Janie was a 1970 graduate from West High School.

She married Gary R. Huff, July 13, 1972, in Davenport. She later married Stuart A. Hoover on Sept. 7, 1996, in Davenport.

Janie was employed in food prep at Hastey Tastey-Valley Vending, Davenport.

Janie was a very patriotic person. She was born on Flag Day and always loved the holidays where she celebrated her love for her country. She had an extensive collection of American flags. She loved the special times she spent playing with her grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Survivors include her husband, Stuart A. "Bud" Hoover; daughters, Sandra Steele (Scott), Iowa City, and Karen Huff, Bettendorf; stepdaughters, Stacy Hoover, Temecula, Calif., Shelby Newberry (Christopher), Davenport, and Stephanie Hoover, East Moline; seven grandchildren; and sisters and brothers, Linda Schumacher (Gene), Bettendorf, Robert Jones (Carol), Davenport, Patricia Ricketts (Fred), Blue Grass, Iowa, Merle Jones (Kathleen), Bettendorf, and Kenneth Jones (Judy), Davenport.

Her parents and a sister, Teresa Walljasper, preceded her in death.
