Donald married Grace Cavert Smith on August 1, 1964 at Scales Chapel in West End Methodist Church. To this union two daughters were born, Carroll Bathrick Boatman and Laura McAlister Bathrick. Grandchildren, Davis Wiley Boatman and Margaret McAlister Boatman.
Mr. Bathrick spent his career as an investment broker and enjoyed his volunteer work with several organizations, including The Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee and the reading to the blind program at WPLN. He was a member of St. Andrew's Parish and Belle Meade Country Club.
