Bonnie J. Spires, 78, of Mancelona, passed away on February 22, 2022 at Munson Medical Center.
She was born on April 27, 1943, in Flat Gap, Kentucky, the daughter of Oral and June (Lavender) Conley.
In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and sewing. A resident of Mancelona since 1991, she worked as a butcher for "Prevos" Store which is now known as "Family Fare" in Bellaire.
Surviving are 2 children, Angela (Brian) Salisbury of Traverse City, Archie Jr. (Helen) Spires of Mancelona, 6 grandchildren, Michelle Salisbury, Weslee Spires, Austin Spires, Kaylee Spires, Trevin Hooks, Zoie Spires, a great-grandson, Tyler Lee, 2 brothers, Delbert (Vivian) Conley of KY, Stephen Donald Conley of KY, 2 sisters, Connie (Charles) Powers of KY, Ethel (Denvil) Mollette of KY, sister-in-law Elizabeth Conley of OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband Archie Spires Sr., 2 brothers, Darrell Conley, Oral "Douglas" Conley, step-mother Cora Mae Conley, sister-in-law Deborah Conley and her parents.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with visitation from 12 noon until the time of services.
Graveside services will be on Friday, May 20, 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona with a luncheon following.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Munson Dialysis Center, 4062 W. Royal Drive, Traverse City, MI, 49684.
Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
