Harry Whipple, age 23 was living in Lowell Massachusetts in 1850, a carpenter, born New
Hampshire, and had a wife Mary A. age 25 born Vermont. Also in the household was William B. Ames age 18, born Vermont who was a brother to Mary.
Harry's wife was Mary Angeline (Ames) born in Vermont, daughter of William B. Ames Sr and Susanna Ames. Her father was a doctor who came from Vermont to resided in New Hampshire (History of Northfield, NH, Cross 1905). Harry and Mary Angeline married May 21, 1849 and had one son Howard Whipple born about 1851 who died as an infant.
Harry/Henry died of inflammation of the lungs, most likely consumption. He was married at his death.
Wife died 1868 in Northfield, NH where she had been residing with her mother after the death of Henry.
Note 1:Remains removed to Mount Auburn Cemetery, originally buried in Maine. Informant on record was L. Whitcomb. (no date on reinterment) Could find no reason he was buried in Maine but that is what was indicated on death record.
Note2: there are two death records for this person, Boston and Massachusetts, one incorrectly gives age as 78 not 28, all other info is the same.
