Don was born October 11, 1943, to Fritz and Marie (nee Kristan) Johnson and died Thursday January 6, 2022, at home.
Don was a Libertyville Police Officer from 1967-1994. He retired as a Sergeant in 1994 and became Police Chief for Round Lake Heights in 1995 and retired in 2010. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Illinois Police Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police, Lake County Police Chiefs Association, The Kiwanis Club and volunteered countless hours with the D.A.R.E. Program and Special Olympics and the American Cancer Society.
He is survived by his sons Paul (Kaye Seeber) Johnson, Tim (Michell) Johnson and his girlfriend Pam Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents Fritz and Marie Johnson and his sister Joan Clay.
