Irma was born on June 4, 1913, in Abie, NE, the daughter of Joseph and Caroline Dvorak Hruska. She married Oliver "Bud" Kolar on August 27, 1938 in Omaha, NE. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was employed as a data processor for twenty-six years at General Motors until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Western Fraternal Bohemian Association, the Springfield Ceramics and Craft Club and the American SOKOL Group. She was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church in LaGrange Highlands, IL. Irma loved cooking, painting and gardening.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son: James Kolar; eight brothers: Arthur Hruska, Edward Hruska, Joseph Hruska, Roman Hruska, Victor Hruska, Herman Hruska, Richard Hruska and James Hruska and two sisters: Helen Lastovica and Carolyn Chapek.
She is survived by one son: Richard (wife, Ann) Kolar of Redmond, WA; one daughter: Carolyn Swanson (husband, Bradley) of Springfield; five grandchildren: and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Memorial Gathering will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will be on Thursday, March 23 at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Oak Brook Terrace, IL.
