Mrs. Laura Sykes, age 70, died at her home near Kilmichael Friday night, March 17. She had been totally blind for two and a half years and a sufferer for many years although she complained but very little.
She was the former Laura Nation, daughter of W.W. Nation and wife, M.O. Nations. She married Clinton M. Sykes, February 10, 1904. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. G.A. Bain. She was member of the Methodist Church for 55 years.
Surviving the deceased are her husband, Clinton M. Sykes, daughter, Mrs. G.A. Bain; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Parks, Memphis, Mrs. C.N. Commander, Tutwiler; two brothers, W.T. Nation, Canton, and W.B. Nation, Memphis.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 3:30 o'clock at the grave with Trewolis Brother in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Kilmichael Cemetery.
